William Fry fosters a strong learning culture, through structured training programmes, ongoing continuous professional development, and the commitment of everyone in the Firm to support and mentoring.
Our Learning and Development department proactively manages employees’ professional development with initiatives aimed at developing strong competencies across a broad range of legal, business, and management areas. Each department has a training Partner who works with the L&D team to agree priorities and in any given year we would typically hold around 120 legal training sessions. Furthermore, external speakers, trainers and coaches are frequently invited to deliver training and provide specialized input.
On the practical side our Partners, Solicitors and managers are directly involved in training through coaching, mentoring and other structured inputs. Additionally our online Knowledge Management System provides just-in-time access to internal know-how and external legal sources.
Our clients learn too, through tailored learning programmes and our client breakfast briefings and CounselConnect seminars.
For those who wish to do external training we are happy to consider funding and study leave for relevant professional courses such as the ITI tax exams and Law Society or university certificates and diplomas.
