Today Business in the Community Ireland (BITCI) is launching the second Low Carbon Pledge Report, detailing the collective progress of more than 50 Irish companies towards reducing our carbon emissions. We are proud to be a signatory of the #LowCarbonPledge and have committed to reducing our carbon emissions intensity by 50% by 2030.
As part of the Pledge:
- We measure and report on our direct emissions on yearly basis.
- We collaborate and share knowledge with over 50 other companies.
- We continue to increase our ambitions as we work towards a better understanding of our indirect emissions and aligning our carbon reduction targets with the Paris Agreement and the latest climate science.
Over the past year, we have continued our proactive efforts to reduce our carbon emissions by installing LED lighting throughout our offices. We have also continued our internal awareness campaign, encouraging staff to switch off lights and screens and power down computers. These efforts have helped us achieve a total reduction of 38% to date.
