Update: WRC Postpones Face-To-Face Adjudication Hearings In Dublin

In light of the decision by the Government to impose Level 3 restrictions on Dublin, the Workplace Relations Commission (WRC) has announced that Dublin based physical face-to-face adjudication, conciliations and mediation meetings scheduled during the week commencing 21 September 2020 will be postponed. The WRC did not confirm whether further hearings would be postponed in the coming weeks. The WRC will be in contact with those affected by the announcement.

The announcement also confirmed that the Government’s decision will not impact scheduled remote hearings or face-to-face adjudications outside of Dublin. The WRC is continuing to ask that parties and representatives remain positively disposed to complaints being adjudicated upon through both written proceedings and remote hearings. The WRC requires the consent of both parties before a remote hearing can be conducted. Where consent is not obtained, this may lead to delays and practical difficulties with hearings.

If you would like any advice on how to proceed with your WRC case, please contact Catherine O’Flynn, Nuala Clayton or your usual William Fry contact.
