Craig is a Partner in William Fry’s Litigation & Dispute Resolution department, specialising in corporate insolvency and restructuring and commercial litigation. His insolvency and restructuring expertise is advising insolvency practitioners in the discharge of their duties as examiners, liquidators and receivers of companies, as well as advising company and other stakeholders in insolvent and potentially insolvent companies. He has experience in all aspects of commercial litigation, with a particular emphasis on contractual disputes, financial services and contentious insolvency litigation. 

Recent significant work includes advising:

  • Advising Grant Thornton as Examiner of Weatherford International plc (In Examinership) in the global restructuring of $8bn debt across the Weatherford Group;
  • Naval Energies SAS, as the majority shareholder and largest creditor in the global liquidation of the OpenHYdro Group, headquartered in Ireland, in addition to advising Naval Group S.A as secured creditor;
  • Deloitte as provisional and official liquidator to the Irish subSidiary of the Karen Millen retail group;
  • PWC, as statutory receiver, in defence of Commercial Court proceedings issued by a high-profile property developer;
  • Baker Tilly as Examiner of the Brady's pharmacies group int eh successful restructuring through examinership;
  • Baker Tilly as Examiner of FCR Media Limited, which is the publisher of the Golden/Yellow Pages and the phone directories in Ireland in the successful restructuring through examinership;
  • Debenhams Retail (Ireland) Limited in its restructuring through examinership;
  • Mothercare Ireland Limited in its restructuring through examinership;
  • DVB Bank SE in the share enforcement relating to Irish entities in the Alitalia group;
  • RSM Ireland as Liquidator of Eurosurgical Limited and in related asset recovery proceedings.

Craig lectures on the Law Society of Ireland’s professional training courses. He is a member of the Educational Committee of the Irish Society of Insolvency Practitioners, a member of R3 Business Recovery Professionals and a member of INSOL Europe. Craig also leads William Fry's Sports Group and is a disciplinary officer for the IRFU and the Leinster Branch.
