Craig is a Partner in William Fry’s Litigation & Dispute Resolution Department, specialising in commercial litigation,  corporate insolvency and restructuring. He has experience in all aspects of commercial litigation, with a particular emphasis on contractual disputes, financial services and contentious insolvency litigation. His insolvency expertise is advising insolvency practitioners in the discharge of their duties as examiners, liquidators and receivers of companies, as well as advising officers and stakeholders in  insolvent companies. 

Recent significant work includes advising:

  • Naval Energies SAS in petitioning the High Court for the appointment of Joint Liquidators to the OpenHydro Group and resisting a petition for examinership presented by certain minority shareholders;
  • NAMA appointed receiver, Declan MacDonald of PwC, in defence of proceedings issued by a high profile property developer;
  • Debenhams Retail (Ireland) Limited in its restructuring through examinership;
  • Mothercare Ireland Limited in its restructuring through examinership.
  • the Karen Millen Group in its acquisition of certain Coast assets from the provisional liquidator of the Irish entity following administration of the parent;
  • Neil Hughes of Baker Tilly Hughes Blake as Examiner of FCR Media Limited, which is the publisher of the Golden / Yellow Pages and the phone directories in Ireland;
  • DVB Bank SE in the share enforcement relating to Irish entities in the Alitalia group;
  • Neil Hughes of Baker Tilly Hughes Blake as Interim Examiner of Yvolve Sports Limited (the manufacturer and supplier of the Flicker Scooter);
  • Neil Hughes of Baker Tilly Hughes Blake as Examiner of Regan Development Limited (The Regency Hotel);
  • George Maloney of RSM Ireland as Liquidator of Eurosurgical Limited and in related asset recovery proceedings;
  • the directors of a company that operated a retail store in disqualification / restriction proceedings;
  • National Asset Management Agency in the successful defence of judicial review proceedings  in the Commercial Court where a large real estate development group sought to challenge the decision to enforce against its secured asset portfolio;
  • a leading real estate development company Commercial Court proceedings for injunctive relief against the enforcement of its loans acquired by a private equity fund;

Craig  lectures on the Law Society of Ireland’s professional training courses. He is a member of the Educational Committee of the Irish Society of Insolvency Practitioners, a member of R3 Business Recovery Professionals and a member of INSOL Europe. Craig also leads William Fry's Sports Group and is a disciplinary officer for the IRFU and the Leinster Branch. 

Craig is ranked in Legal 500 EMEA 2018 as a 'Next Generation Lawyer' in Insolvency & Corporate Restructuring.
