Elena advises leading global asset managers and service providers in relation to the structuring, establishment and regulation of Irish-domiciled investment funds and management companies. Elena’s experience includes advising a broad range of clients on the authorisation of AIFs and UCITS, with particular expertise in relation to ETFs. She advises leading asset managers on acquisitions, fund consolidations and the establishment of new products and has considerable corporate governance experience.
Recent significant deals include advising:
- a global international investment firm on the establishment of a suite of multi-asset funds with an ESG focus, being the first actively managed UCITS ETFs in that range;
- on the extension to a UCITS management company’s Central Bank authorisation to include authorisation to act as an AIFM, thus becoming a super ManCo;
- on the establishment of a broad range of physical and synthetic ETFs pursuing a variety of investment strategies, including a focus on ESG/SRI strategies;
- a range of asset managers in relation to compliance with the Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR), to include advice regarding the reclassification of certain funds under the SFDR; and
- on the establishment of Europe’s first fixed maturity bond ETFs.
