The WFirst Programme is a one-day insight experience for first- and second-year college students from all disciplines.

Held twice a year in January and May, WFirst gives you the opportunity to experience life at one of Ireland’s leading corporate law firms and find out what a legal career at William Fry looks like.

Whether you’re curious about a career in law or looking to build your professional skills, WFirst gives you practical insight into the work, people and opportunities at William Fry. You’ll leave with new connections and a clearer understanding of the early career opportunities available to you.

During WFirst, you’ll experience:

• Firm Overview: Take a journey through the firm’s history, from its founding in 1847 to its current home at 2 Grand Canal Square, and learn about our people, practice areas and world-class clients. You’ll also discover our early career pathways, including the Legal and Tax Summer Internships, College Placement Programme and Trainee Programme.
• Skills Workshop: Delivered by our award-winning Professional Development team, this interactive workshop challenges you to apply core skills needed for a successful legal career. Through collaborative exercises and real-world scenarios, you’ll test your legal knowledge, commercial awareness and client care skills, and get a feel for the high-performance, client-focused environment at William Fry, a firm renowned for the quality of our thinking and our relentless drive to find a way for our clients to succeed.
• CV & LinkedIn Masterclass: Led by our Talent Acquisition Manager, this session gives you practical tools to strengthen your professional presence. You’ll learn how to build an “All- Star” LinkedIn profile, develop your personal brand and structure a CV that highlights your strengths and achievements.
• A Day in the Life – Panel Discussion: Current trainees and College Placement students share their experiences of our early career programmes, including the work they do, the opportunities that let their talents shine and the support they receive. You’ll have the chance to ask questions directly about day-to-day life at William Fry.
• Work Shadowing a Trainee: To conclude the day, you’ll shadow a trainee and gain first-hand insight into their day-to-day responsibilities. You’ll see how trainees manage their workload, collaborate with colleagues and contribute to client matters.
