Ciarán advises borrowers, financial institutions and alternative lenders on a broad range of transactional and advisory mandates. Ciarán has extensive experience acting on corporate finance, real estate and development finance and acquisition finance deals.
Ciarán has particular experience advising on project and infrastructure financings including in some highly regulated sectors. He has advised on some of the most significant Irish infrastructure projects in recent years.
Recent significant deals Ciarán has advised on include:
- EirGrid plc on all aspects of the €800m financing of the Celtic Interconnector, a 700MW submarine power cable linking Ireland and France, described as “the signature project in the Irish State in this decade and a flagship project in terms of European connectivity“;
- The European Investment Bank on all aspects of the €250 million financing to Equisisk to finance the construction and maintenance of seven Community Nursing Units. The financing is the first PPP financing for community nursing and elder care facilities in Ireland;
- Department of Environment, Climate & Communications on the structural and financing arrangements for the implementation of the National Broadband Plan; and
- Eiffel Investment Group SAS on its funding to the Amarenco Group for the development and late-stage development of a large portfolio of ground mounted solar PV projects in Ireland and Portugal.
