Ciarán is a Partner in William Fry's Banking & Financial Services Department. He advises borrowers, financial institutions and alternative lenders on a board range of transactional and advisory mandates. Ciarán has extensive experience acting on corporate finance, real estate and development finance, project finance and acquisition finance deals. Prior to re-joining William Fry in 2018, Ciarán spent a number of years with a magic circle firm in Amsterdam which included a secondment to a leading Dutch bank.
Recent significant deals Cairán has advised on include:
- Glanbia Ireland on the establishment of the Twenty20 Beef Club in conjunction with Finance Ireland and Kepak
- Eirgrid plc on its proposed 700MW Celtic Interconnection submarine power cable together with a fibreoptic link between Ireland and France, an EU Project of Common Interest as part of the European Super Grid. This is a JV between Eirgrid and RTE (Réseau de Transport d'Electricité). Also advised Eirgrid plc and SONI on their facilities associated with I-SEM (the integrated single electricity market) and their ongoing roles as market operator and system operator
- Blackpitts LP on the financing of a 202 bed hotel in Blackpitts Dublin to be operated as the first Starwood Aloft branded hotel in Ireland and the first hotel to be constructed in Dublin post the financial crisis
- Technology and life science focused lenders including Silicon Valley Bank and Kreos Capital on, working capital, venture debt, senior and acquisition facilities to numerous companies in the life science and tech spheres
