Michelle’s practice includes judicial reviews arising out of proposed major infrastructure projects, planning injunctions and planning oral hearings. Michelle also advises on environmental compliance investigations and prosecutions. Michelle is experienced in property and construction litigation and advises on compulsory purchase matters.
Michelle is a member of the Firm’s Energy, Renewables & Utilities practice group.
Significant recent cases include:
- Advising EirGrid plc, the Irish state-owned electric power transmission operator in relation to a proposed emergency development of additional electricity generation capacity.
- Acting for a major data centre developer in two linked judicial review challenges to its planning permission for its proposed €1 billion data centre and associated grid connection works.
- Advising Aughinish Alumina on its strategic infrastructure development planning application for a multi-million euro expansion of its bauxite disposal facility at Askeaton, County Limerick.
- Acting for Towercom Limited in the defence of judicial review challenges to its planning permissions in respect of a number of telecommunications mast developments
