David is a Partner in our Banking & Finance Department.

David O'Shea

David advises corporates, private equity sponsors, asset managers, financial institutions and lenders on a wide range of international and domestic finance transactions. His financing practice includes fund finance, leverage finance, corporate lending, real estate finance and project finance. He is a key member of the Energy & Infrastructure sectoral group.

David is also admitted as a solicitor in England and Wales.

Recent deals include advising:

  • an international financial institution in connection with a GBP 229 million revolving credit facility provided to Irish unit trust borrowers;
  • an Irish-regulated umbrella fund in connection with a GBP130 million NAV facility provided by an international financial institution to sub-funds within the umbrella structure;
  • an Irish-regulated UCITS umbrella fund in connection with a US$25 million revolving credit facility provided by an international financial institution to sub-funds within the umbrella structure;
  • various international financial institutions on a full range of fund finance transactions, including syndicated and bilateral leveraged/NAV facilities, hybrid facilities and capital call facilities;
  • TowerBrook Capital Partners on financing its investment in the GMC Utilities Group, one of Ireland’s leading civil and engineering firms that specialises in the delivery of large-scale infrastructure projects;
  • TowerBrook Capital Partners on financing its investment in ID Unlimited, a global leader in premium sports equipment and textile personalization;
  • Irish legal advisors to the agents and mandated lead arrangers in respect of all financing arrangements with the Flutter group;
  • Echelon Data Centres in connection with the acquisition of a 50% stake in the business by Starwood Capital while simultaneously refinancing its mezzanine debt and securing senior debt from Morgan Stanley and United Overseas Bank; and
  • European Investment Bank on the financing of the Oweninny wind farm in Co. Mayo, Ireland’s largest onshore wind farm and a joint venture.
