David is a Partner in our Banking & Finance Department.

David  O'Shea

David advises corporate borrowers, sponsors, financial institutions and alternative lenders on a wide range of international and domestic finance transactions. He has particular expertise in fund finance, acquisition finance, corporate finance and real estate finance (investment and development). He also advises on sustainable finance and is a key member of the Energy, Renewables and Utilities sectoral group.

David is also admitted as a solicitor in England and Wales.

Recent transactions David has advised on the finance side include:

  • Continuously act as Irish legal advisors to various international financial institution lenders on a full range of fund finance transactions lending into Irish regulated funds, including syndicated and bilateral leveraged/NAV facilities, hybrid facilities and capital call facilities. David also acts for Irish regulated funds on a range of fund finance transactions.
  • Continuously act as Irish legal advisors to the agents and mandated lead arrangers in respect of all financing arrangements with the Flutter group.
  • Acted for Echelon Data Centres in connection with the acquisition of a 50% stake in the business by Starwood Capital for up to €850m while simultaneously refinancing its mezzanine debt and securing €900m in senior debt from Morgan Stanley and United Overseas Bank.
  • Acted for GA Development Dublin ICAV on the financing of Camden Yard, a mixed-use development located on a four acre site in Dublin’s city centre comprising over 407,300 square feet of commercial office space and 299 residential apartments.
  • Continuously act (as lead lender counsel) for various domestic and international financial institution lenders (on a bilateral, club and syndicated basis) on financing many of Ireland’s largest domestic and international corporate organisations and private equity sponsors.
  • Continuously act for venture debt provider, Claret Capital, on on all its Irish transactions and operations.
