Gavin O'Flaherty

Gavin’s practice primarily focuses on domestic and global M&A, corporate reorganisations, venture capital and private equity investments. Within his general corporate and M&A practice he advises on strategic M&A mandates with particular sector focus on financial services (to include more particularly insurance companies), agri-food and healthcare companies.

Gavin also has particular expertise in advising private equity houses on their investment into or acquisition of Irish corporates and has acted on a number of the largest private equity transactions in and through Ireland over the last number of years.

Gavin also advises extensively on foreign direct investment into Ireland by foreign corporates whether through acquisition or investment into companies.

• Acting for the management sellers on the conditional sale of Erova Energy Limited to Macquarie UK Holdings No. 2 Limited which followed on from assisting the then founders on taking in of investment from Mitsui *
• Advised MML Growth Capital together with its fellow shareholders on the sale of Eastland Engineering Supply Co Ltd, a leading maintenance, repair and overall integrated supply chain provider to Vallen Distribution Inc, a portfolio company of Nautic Partners *
• Advised Arachas Corporate Brokers for the last number of years, since acting on the original investment into it by Sovereign Capital Partners, across a huge range of transactions including on their acquisition of Capital Cover Group Limited, Alan B. Kidd & Co. Limited, Glennon Insurances, Hooper Dolan Group, Murray & Spelman Limited together with its subsidiary Eugene P Corrigan Limited and Cover Centre Insurance Group *
• Advised the Busy Bees group on their acquisition of the Giraffe Childcare Group and the Park Childcare Group *
• Advised long standing client Ardonagh Europe Limited, the leading worldwide insurance group, on the acquisition of Santis Holdco AG which is the holding company of the ASSEPRO Group, a large Swiss and Austrian insurance brokerage house and on their acquisition of the commercial lines business of Mansutti S.r.l. *
• Advised The Dukes Education Group on various acquisitions in the Irish market including the acquisitions of The Institute of Education (Dublin) and Bruce College, Cork *
• Advised US listed Corpay Inc (formerly Fleetcor) on its acquisition of Roomex Limited *
• Advised the Longacre Group in relation to its acquisition of Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics Ireland Limited *
• Advised Livingbridge on its minority investment in T-Pro, a leading provider of AI-powered speech technology and clinical documentation solutions to the healthcare sector *
• Advises Dental Care Ireland since incorporation on its acquisition of dental practices across Ireland *
• Advised Certa Ireland, a subsidiary of DCC plc, on the acquisition of Alternative Energy Ireland *
