Hilary is also is a member of the firm’s Financial Services Cross Sectoral Group. She specialises in regulatory enforcement and commercial litigation. Her work concentrates on Central Bank investigations and enforcement matters.
Hilary also advises on a wide range of commercial cases with particular expertise financial services disputes, investment disputes, injunctions, professional negligence and judicial reviews against public bodies
Recent experience of note includes advising:
- a former non-executive director of a credit institution in the first ever Central Bank Inquiry conducted pursuant to the Administrative Sanctions Procedure
- several (confidential) regulated financial services providers and persons concerned in the management of such providers in the context of investigations, enforcement actions and settlements with the Central Bank of Ireland as well as advising on reporting and other regulatory obligations
- on the implementation of a complex settlement reached with the Trustee for the liquidation of Bernard L. Madoff Investment Securities
- numerous clients on investment related professional negligence claims and other commercial and financial services disputes before the High Court and the Commercial Court.
