Tiernan has significant experience in the renewables sector, having acted for a number of clients in relation to the financing, development and operation of energy projects throughout Ireland, and also advises clients in the healthcare and industrial sectors. Recent significant matters include advising:

• Hines on the real estate aspects of its refinancing with Wells Fargo of a portfolio of student accommodation assets in Dublin comprising over 1,500 beds (Project River);
• Bank of Ireland on the real estate aspects of its provision of acquisition finance to Marlet in respect of Manor West Shopping Centre, Tralee, Co. Kerry;
• SDC Capital on its acquisition of development land in north county Dublin for development (data centre) purposes;
• Saol Assurance DAC on the real estate aspects of its acquisition of certain life assurance policies, assets (including a mixed use portfolio of commercial properties in Dublin) and liabilities from Irish Life Assurance;
• Care Property Invest NV on its acquisition and letting of Elm Green Nursing Home, Castleknock, Dublin to Domus Vi;
• A large European private equity group on the acquisition, financing and ongoing asset management of its office and industrial portfolio in Ireland.
