William Fry Advises McGill and Partners on EQT's Acquisition of a Majority Stake

William Fry is acting as Irish legal counsel to McGill and Partners and its management team on the acquisition by EQT of a majority stake in the business from Warburg Pincus, in a transaction valuing McGill and Partners at US$2 billion.

McGill and Partners is a leading specialty (re)insurance broker. Its founders and management team will reinvest alongside EQT and retain a meaningful ownership stake, while Warburg Pincus sells its equity stake in full.

Founded in 2019, McGill and Partners has grown from a challenger brand into a scaled global specialty broking business with revenues of more than US$250 million. William Fry have advised McGill and Partners since 2020, helping it to establish its European platform.
