To make it mandatory for registration purposes for all medical practitioners engaged in clinical practice to have adequate medical indemnity insurance In the summer session
Health (Amendment) Bill To clarify and update a number of issues that have been identified over time with specific provisions of the Health Act 1970, to provide for measures arising from Budget 2013 in regard to the Nursing Home Support Scheme, to provide for an updated framework for charging all private in-patients in public hospitals to meet budgetary requirements and to provide for the extending of a publicly funded General Practitioner (GP) service without fees In the summer session
Public Health (Sunbeds) Bill To introduce a number of measures to regulate the use of sunbeds including a prohibition of their use by those under 18 years of age Late 2013
Health Information Bill To provide a legislative framework for the better governance of health information and initiatives including data matching, population health resources and identifiers for use in the health service Early 2014
Medical Practitioners Act 2007 (Amendment) (No 2) Bill To amend the Medical Practitioners Act 2007 in relation to a number of issues   No indication as to when publication expected
Human Tissue Bill  To meet the key recommendation of the Madden Report that no hospital post-mortem may be carried out and no tissue retained without consent.  The Bill will also address other matters relating to human tissue including consent arrangements for transplantation and research purposes No indication as to when publication expected
Licensing of Healthcare Facilities Bill To provide for a mandatory system of licensing for public and private healthcare facilities    No indication as to when publication expected
