In Short: Residential Property Price Register

December 5, 2012

In a move towards greater transparency in the property market, the Residential Property Price Register is now available. The Register, which provides information on all residential properties purchased in the Republic of Ireland since 1 January 2010, has been compiled by the Property Services Regulatory Authority, using information declared to the Revenue Commissioners for stamp duty purposes. The Register, which is updated on a regular basis, includes the following information:

  • Address
  • Date of sale
  • Price
  • Description of property i.e. whether it is new or second-hand
  • Property size/ description
  • Other properties in the sale

The Property Size/ Description information is limited and is not completed in all cases.

It is hoped that the register will restore confidence to the market by improving the quality of information available in the residential property market.
