about a quarter of the 240 transactions in 2021 were driven by private equity and while that represents an increase in volume with 66 deals up from 57 and 2020 the real growth has been in the value of those deals out of 25 billion euro of total m a activity some 40 or 10.8 billion euros attributable to private equity that’s reflected in the fact that nearly half of the 20 largest deals in ireland were private equity related including the four largest inbound deals it’s clear from these figures that ireland has been benefiting from the global stock of dry powder searching for value return ireland continues to represent an attractive proposition in terms of valuations and the business community here views private equity as increasingly familiar and favorable in driving growth and value ireland’s overall economic outlook remains positive and is set again to outpace the eu average in 2022 although the uncertainty around the path of the covert pandemic and the inevitable rise in multiples that follows such an influx of capital may operate to temper these trends for more information click on the link below
