We are delighted to share the third edition of the William Fry Technology Report.
Legal compliance has become a precondition for technology deployment at scale. The arrival of the EU AI Act, GDPR’s interaction with model deployment, DORA in financial services, NIS 2 in critical infrastructure, and the operational implications of the Data Act have together moved the legal question to the front of the procurement queue alongside technology testing and due diligence. The result is a clear reversal of the pattern seen in previous technology cycles, when legal teams arrived late to a technology already embedded in operational practice.
John O’Connor, Partner in our Technology group, examines what this shift means for Irish organisations and where the most significant compliance obligations now sit.
