William Fry Partner becomes first person in Europe to win three International Law Office Client Choice Award for work in insurance sector
April 10 2014: John Larkin, Partner in William Fry and Head of the Firm’s Insurance Department, has become the first person in Europe to win the International Law Office Client Choice Award for his work in the insurance sector for the third year running.
The award, chosen by in-house lawyers following a survey process, is in recognition of John’s extensive expertise built up over 20 years advising the insurance sector in Ireland. His practice focuses on assisting insurance and reinsurance companies to establish in Ireland and advising on cross-border passporting issues. He also advises on M&A deals, portfolio transfers, restructurings and on other insurance-based transactions as well as on regulatory investigations.
Commenting on the award, John Larkin said: “I am delighted to win this award for the third year in a row. It’s a great honour to have been nominated by my peers again. John Larkin
John Larkin is head of William Fry’s insurance department. He is consistently ranked as a leading figure for insurance law in Ireland by international legal directories. His practice focuses on portfolio transfers, restructurings and other insurance-based transactions, as well as regulatory investigations. He also advises insurance and reinsurance companies on establishing in Ireland and cross-border passporting issues. He has advised a number of insurance and reinsurance companies in relation to regulatory breaches and subsequent administrative penalty procedures.
Mr. Larkin is a member and former chairman of An Taoiseach’s IFSC Insurance Group. He is also a former chairman of the Irish Law Society’s EU and International Affairs Committee.
