William Fry Hires Two New Litigation Partners

William Fry has announced the appointment of two new Partners to its Litigation & Dispute Resolution Department: Paul Convery and Derek Hegarty.  These two senior appointments are part of the Firm’s continued growth in 2015 and William Fry’s ongoing commitment to the development of its market-leading Litigation practice.

Paul Convery joins William Fry from Mason Hayes & Curran where he was a Partner in their Commercial Litigation Department and led the contentious media team.  He specialises in commercial, securities litigation, defamation, professional indemnity and coverage disputes.

Derek Hegarty joins the Firm from AIB where he has worked since 2011 and most recently led the Banking Inquiry Unit.  Prior to working in AIB, Derek worked with Arthur Cox.  With financial institutions and their officers being subject to increasing levels of scrutiny and regulation, Derek will greatly enhance the cross departmental team at William Fry that focuses on risk and reputation management within that sector.

Commenting on the new hires, Bryan Bourke, Managing Partner of William Fry said, “I am delighted to announce these new Partner appointments to our Litigation Department.  In January this year we committed to growing our business by 50 staff in 2015 and to date we have appointed eight new partners and over 70 solicitors and business support staff.  Our continued investment in the best people underlines our commitment to the delivery of excellent results for our clients.”
