William Fry hosts conference on eHealth: The Modern Healthcare Revolution

Senior leaders in the Healthcare and Technology fields attended a conference hosted by leading law firm William Fry last week. The focus of the event was eHealth – the benefits and how to make the most of recent advances while mitigating risk, particularly around information security, privacy and patient care.

The conference featured a presentation on the Do’s and Don’ts of eHealth by Dr Sonya McCullough, Medicolegal Adviser for the MPS, and was followed by an interactive panel discussion.

Panelists included:

  • Richard Corbridge, CIO of the HSE and CEO of eHealth Ireland;
  • Cathal Ryan, Assistant Commissioner in the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner;
  • Prof Paul Ridgway, a Consultant Surgeon and Associate Professor at Trinity College;
  • Jennifer Hughes, Director of Marketing for Clanwilliam Group; and
  • David Cullen, Partner and Head of Technology for William Fry.

The panel discussion was chaired by Susan Mitchell, Health Editor for The Sunday Business Post.

Guests were invited to interact with the panel through the use of an event app that allowed them to submit questions to the speakers as well as provide their perspective on a number of important areas via a voting function.
