William Fry advised on more M&A deals than any other law firm in Ireland according to Mergermarket’s Global & Regional M&A Report Q3 2017, with 24 deals worth a combined US$1,056m in the first three quarters of 2017. This is four more transactions than the same period in 2016.
Shane O’Donnell, Head of Corporate and M&A, stated, “M&A is core to our practice at William Fry. Our team has top-tier credentials, a wealth of experience and an impressive depth of expertise. As the M&A Report Q3 report highlights, William Fry is consistently involved in the most sophisticated and complex corporate transactions in Ireland, including large cross-border deals”.
William Fry mandates this year include advising the Minister for Finance on the AIB IPO, one of the biggest IPOs in the U.K. and Ireland in recent years, and advising Linde AG on its soon to be completed merger with US industrial group Praxair Inc. in a deal that creates the world’s largest supplier of industrial gas. On completion, this merger will be the largest M&A deal in Europe in 2017 so far. In addition, the law firm also advised on the US$209m takeover of NASDAQ-listed Innocoll plc by Gurnet Point.
