Colm Booth

Colm is a Partner in our Projects department, specialising in Energy and Infrastructure. He advises the full range of participants in the Irish energy market, including the transmission system operator (TSO), conventional and renewable (both solar and wind) generators, electricity suppliers, project developers, funders, and end users.

Colm has extensive experience in respect of major energy infrastructure projects, corporate M&A transactions in the energy and infrastructure sector, and advising data centre operators, developers, and contractors. He couples his project delivery and M&A experience with a deep understanding of Energy regulation and markets and has advised major Irish electricity generators on their participation in the Irish single electricity market (SEM) and large energy users (both industrial clients and data centres) on corporate power purchase agreements with generators.

Colm has recently advised:

• EirGrid, the Irish TSO, on all aspects of a suite of services contracts to procure 660MW of new temporary emergency generation capacity services.
• EirGrid, on the corporate and financing aspects of its JV for the €1.6bn+ 700MW Celtic Interconnector subsea cable to France.
• Digital Realty, a leading data centre operator, on various energy-related matters.
• EngineNode, a data centre developer, on project development and energy infrastructure.
• John Paul Construction, one of Ireland’s leading international contractors, on a series of major energy and infrastructure projects.
