Lyn has significant experience in advising global financial institutions, private equity firms and corporate clients on a range of domestic and cross border financial transactions, with particular expertise in leveraged finance, acquisition financing, financial restructuring and public takeovers.
Lyn originally practised in another large Irish law firm and, prior to joining William Fry, spent over 4 years practising in New York as part of the leveraged finance team of Milbank LLP, with time spent on secondment in New York with Goldman Sachs.
Lyn’s experience includes:
- Advising the arrangers on the Irish financing aspects and Irish Takeover Rules in respect of Brookfield’s €1.089bn recommended takeover of Hibernia REIT plc;
- Advising Clayton, Dubilier & Rice on the Irish financing aspects and Irish Takeover Rules in respect of its £2.6bn recommended takeover of UDG Healthcare plc with ongoing engagement as Irish counsel in all subsequent related finance transactions;
- Advising AIB on the acquisition financing of the ding* group by Pollen Street Capital;
- Advising Skillsoft Group on the Irish law aspects of its restructuring through a US Chapter 11 proceeding with ongoing engagement as Irish counsel for all Irish finance matters;
- Advising Home For Life Limited as borrower in all finance matters, including their €95.0m senior and junior financing in relation to the purchase of assets pursuant to the mortgage-to-rent scheme , all subsequent drawdowns and upsizes to the facility;
- Advising Clayton, Dubilier & Rice on the Irish financing aspects of their acquisition of Multi-Color Labels Inc,;
- Advising Private Pier Industries GmbH, parent company to Grace O’Malley Whiskey and Proclamation Spirits, on all Irish aspects of its financing arrangements relating to its Irish based whiskey and distillation business;
- Advising Debenhams on Irish aspects of their restructuring and debt finance arrangements;
- Advising Smurfit Kappa Group on the issuance of €750m euro denominated senior notes;
- Lead counsel to MGM in the $850m debt financing in relation to their acquisition of Yonkers Raceway and Empire Casino*;
- Lead counsel to the arrangers in the $360m debt financing for the acquisition of Elo Touch Solutions by Crestview Partners*; and
- In house lead advisor at Goldman Sachs in the $1.295bn debt financing for acquisition of Hearthside Food Solutions by Partners Group (USA) and Charlesbank Capital Partners*.
