Ted McGrath

Ted has over 25 years’ experience providing tax advice to businesses operating in the financial services industry.

He spent several years working in the UK and has extensive knowledge of the international financial services industry. In addition to the investment management sector, he advises clients on a wide range of financial services transactions across all financial services sectors including banking, leasing, group treasury, securitisation, insurance/reinsurance etc. He helps clients understand the international tax consequences of transactions and how they impact on their business (and in many cases the impact on investors also).

His appreciation of non-tax matters such as legal, regulatory and commercial considerations helps ensure that his advice has a practical focus on what can be implemented.  This delivers real value to his clients when dealing with complex, novel and emerging issues.

Ted is the head of the FS service line for Taxand.

Ted is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland. He is a regular speaker on financial services tax related matters and has written extensively in industry journals and tax publications.

Ted is author of the IBFD’s publication – Investment Funds & Private Equity – Ireland, editor of the Irish section of the Invest Europe Tax Benchmark Study and co-author of the Ireland chapter of The Real Estate Investment Structure Taxation Review published by The Law Reviews.
