Technology Report 2026 - Conclusion

We are delighted to share the third edition of the William Fry Technology Report.

Irish-based organisations are entering the most demanding phase of technology disruption to date.

The early period of AI adoption was characterised by speed, trial and error, and standard-form contracts that transferred risk to buyers while leaving the return question unresolved. The next phase will be shaped by negotiated deployment under a maturing regulatory framework, a sharper focus on measurable return, and a growing recognition that EU rules, applied with appropriate guidance, can support commercial certainty.

Legal capability must be embedded from the outset and across the full technology lifecycle. The organisations treating cybersecurity, skills, and workforce impact as a single integrated programme are the ones now pulling ahead.

Leo Moore, Head of Technology at William Fry, sets out the conclusions from this year’s report and the priorities they point to in the near term in the pdf below, or read our full report here.
