Please see attached presentation by John Larkin delivered on 19 October to the Insurance Institute of Dublin on the question of the powers of the Central Bank of Ireland to carry out on-site inspections of insurance and reinsurance companies and also of insurance intermediaries.
The presentation covers the legislative powers that the Central Bank can rely on to conduct such inspections as well as describing how a typical inspection would be conducted. It concludes with some practical advice for companies to follow if they are subject to an inspection.
