We are delighted to announce the 2021 William Fry Social Impact+ Bursary Award winners – Spraoi agus Sport, Pocket Forests and My Mind. Bursary awards of €5,000 will be awarded to each of these social enterprises in recognition of the significant strides in they have made in their chosen field of work – raising awareness of key social issues, effecting positive change for disadvantaged communities and delivering outcomes that improve people’s lives, our environment and society. Spraoi agus Spórt

Spraoi agus Spórt is an award winning social enterprise based in Carndonagh, Inishowen, Co. Donegal providing excellent social, recreational and educational activities for the community which are focused on family development and which bring social, recreational and economic benefits to the area. They plan to use the bursary to provide 175 hours of alternative respite care for children and teenagers with a disability and / or autism. Click here to learn more about their work.

Pocket Forests

What is a pocket forest? It’s a special method of planting small biodiverse forests in urban areas. Led by Ashe Conrad-Jones and Catherine Cleary, Pocket Forests helps people create and care for their own pocket forests in their local communities and schools. They plan to use the bursary to invest in electric cargo bikes to enable them to deliver locally using a renewable-energy system and provide an example of a transition to a zero-carbon model for local businesses. My Mind

MyMind has created a unique movement for community-based mental health services that work towards giving every person in Ireland equal access to mental health support early, affordably, directly, without stigma or delay. They plan to use the bursary to help improve their online management system to make it more user friendly.  Click here to learn more about their work.

William Fry has been supporting the social enterprise sector through our Social Impact+ pro bono programme since 2019.
