William Fry Continues Its Sponsorship of the Cancer Research Racquet

July 13, 2016

William Fry was proud to continue its support of the ‘Cancer Research Racquet’, by sponsoring the annual tennis event which was held in Fitzwilliam Tennis Club on Wednesday, 29 June. The event, now in its fourth year, is part of a series of charity events organised by Cancer Research Racquet to coincide with three of the tennis grand slams – the US Open, Wimbledon, and the French Open. It raises funds for both the Irish Cancer Society and the American Cancer Society.

The Cancer Research Racquet is an international group of US, UK & EU business professionals who love the game of tennis and who raise money for cancer research. Rob Kinas, a partner in US law firm Snell and Wilmer (one of the largest firms on the West Coast with nine offices across the region) started the Cancer Research Racquet movement by leveraging his contacts from the Lex Mundi network of international law firms to organise these events across the US and Europe.

Every time the group raises $150,000, it funds a new major cancer research project – it is currently working towards funding its fifth.
