William Fry partner with Trinity Centre for People with Intellectual Disabilities (TCPID)

At William Fry, diversity and inclusion are at the heart of our values of Big Thinking, Energetic Engagement, and Powerfully Principled.

We are proud to partner with the Trinity Centre for People with Intellectual Disabilities (TCPID) to further our commitment to diversity and inclusion. TCPID, based within the School of Education at Trinity College Dublin, works to enable individuals with intellectual disabilities to reach their full potential through a combination of research, professional training, lifelong learning, and the dissemination of new knowledge.

“As part of our commitment to diversity and inclusion and providing access to the workplace, we are partnering with Trinity Centre for People with Intellectual Disabilities and extend our support through work placements and internships,” said Owen O’Sullivan, Managing Partner.

William Fry strongly believes in the importance of both work experience and education in promoting independence and success for the next generation of young people with disabilities. We hope to help in breaking down barriers to employment and provide people with valuable skills and experience that will benefit them throughout their careers.

The two-year, accredited certificate program offered by TCPID is a Level 5 on the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) and gives people with intellectual disabilities the chance to participate in higher education programs designed to empower them to fully participate in society as independent adults. Since gaining professional accreditation in 2016, 38 students have successfully completed the program.

At William Fry, we strive to create an inclusive workplace for all. Building a diverse and inclusive culture is crucial to how we serve our clients, support the growth and development of our team, and play a leading role in our communities. Helping our colleagues with disabilities realise their potential is a key part of our plan to cultivate an inclusive and diverse culture. We look forward to working with TCPID and welcoming our first cohort of students.

“We are very proud of this new partnership with William Fry and we are really looking forward to working with the team there over the coming years. We are already planning for our first student placement or graduate internship in William Fry in early 2023,” said Marie Devitt, TCPID Pathways Coordinator.
