Nessa advises asset managers, promoters, and fund service providers on the legal, regulatory and commercial aspects of the structuring, establishment and ongoing management of public and private fund structures in Ireland. Formerly a policy specialist in the Central Bank of Ireland (the financial regulator), she has over 15 years’ experience advising across the core Irish and EU fund and asset management legal frameworks as well as the ever-increasing body of cross-sectoral legal frameworks for the sector including PRIIPs, EMIR, SFTR, SFDR, and DORA.
As Head of William Fry’s ESG & Sustainability practice area, Nessa plays an integral role in advancing the firm’s client sustainability offering across key areas including energy transition, sustainable finance, sustainability reporting, sustainability marketing claims, supply and value chain sustainability due diligence, minimum energy performance standards, sustainability risk and impact management. The Sustainability & ESG Practice Group comprises highly skilled lawyers from across each of the Firm’s Sector groups and provides strategic legal advice to clients on the business impacts, risks and opportunities from the rapidly evolving sustainability legal framework.
