Sheila advises on the full range of EU and Irish competition law issues. Her merger control practice includes EU and Irish merger control, including the Irish media merger regime.

Sheila is a Partner in William Fry’s Competition & Regulation Department. She has extensive experience in cartel investigations, distribution agreements, conduct by dominant firms and competition law damages actions. In addition, she advises on State aid, telecoms regulation and public procurement law. She has particular experience of working with clients in the private equity and financial services sectors.
Significant matters include advising:
- An Irish motor insurer on the CCPC’s long running competition law investigation into alleged concerted practices in Irish motor insurance sector
- J&E Davy on the Irish merger control clearance of the agreed sale of its wealth management, capital markets and associated businesses to Bank of Ireland
- a truck manufacturer on the defence of competition law damages actions in Ireland following the European Commission’s 2016 infringement decision
- Phoenix Group on the Irish merger control clearances of its acquisitions of Standard Life Assurance and ReAssure Group and its sale of Ark Life
- FMCG, life sciences and other clients on a range of distribution and pricing issues
