In December 2013, the Irish Competition Authority issued revised merger guidelines. These guidelines set out the principles which the Authority will take into account when reviewing proposed mergers. The guidelines replace the Authority’s previous merger guidelines issued in 2002. This article provides an overview of the key changes in the guidelines.
