As reported in our January bulletin, the Central Bank of Ireland published a revised Corporate Governance Code for Credit Institutions and Insurance Undertakings on 23 December 2013 setting out the corporate governance obligations which apply to credit institutions and insurance undertakings. On 31 March 2014, the Central Bank published a new Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) document for the revised Corporate Governance Code. The revised code together with the new FAQ document will not take effect until 1 January 2015.  The existing FAQ document (issued in 2011) continues to apply in the interim period. Regulated entities which are subject to the Corporate Governance Code are, however, reminded by the Central Bank that the information published in the FAQ document is for guidance purposes only.
