Additional Judges
The Government has approved the appointment of two additional judges to the Supreme Court in order to tackle lengthy waiting times in the Supreme Court and the Court of Criminal Appeal. Currently, the average delay in new cases before the Supreme Court is approximately 4 years.  

Court of Appeal
In an effort to alleviate the backlog of cases currently before the Supreme Court, the Government has announced that a referendum is to be held (most likely in September 2013) to amend the Constitution to allow for the establishment of a new Court of Appeal.  

Additional Court Sittings
In a major break with tradition, additional Superior Courts (High Court, Court of Criminal Appeal and Supreme Court) sittings are to be held in September of this year, during the Court’s “Long Vacation” of August and September.
