01 May 2023: William Fry today announced the appointment of three new Partners across its Litigation & Investigations and Corporate / M&A Departments and four Consultants across its Asset Management and Litigation & Investigations Departments.
Michelle Martin has been appointed as a Partner in our Litigation & Investigations Department where she specialises in commercial litigation, planning and environmental law. Michelle advises on a broad range of commercial litigation matters with particular experience in planning and environmental disputes. Michelle frequently acts in judicial reviews arising out of proposed major infrastructure projects, procurement challenges, planning oral hearings, planning injunctions and compulsory purchase matters. Michelle also acts in regulatory prosecutions and in complex disputes in the energy, utilities and telecommunications sectors.
Gerard James has been appointed as a Partner in our Litigation & Investigations Department. Gerard advises on a wide range of commercial disputes with a particular focus on property related disputes. Gerard acts for a range of domestic and international clients in dispute resolution at mediations, domestic and international arbitrations (including under the UNCITRAL, ICC, JAMS Rules); he is frequently involved in matters in the Commercial List of the High Court and has acted for clients in the Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court and at statutory inquiries.
Fiachra Cork has been appointed as a Partner in our Corporate/M&A Department. He advises international and domestic clients across a variety of business sectors on all aspects of corporate law including public and private M&A, joint ventures, reorganisations, corporate migrations, equity investments and IPOs. He has particular experience in public takeovers having advised bidders, targets and financial advisers on some of the most high-profile takeovers in recent years.
Nessa Joyce has been appointed Consultant in our Asset Management & Investment Funds Department. Nessa joined William Fry in 2019 as a knowledge lawyer, prior to which she was a policy specialist in the Central Bank of Ireland. She has worked in the Funds sector for over 15 years and has extensive experience advising asset managers and fund service providers.
Niall Crowley has been appointed as a Consultant in William Fry’s Asset Management & Investment Funds Department. Niall advises a wide variety of clients on the legal and regulatory regime that applies to, and the financing and structuring of, investment funds and fund management companies domiciled in Ireland. Niall has significant experience in advising both private funds and UCITS.
Nicola Doran has been appointed Consultant in our Asset Management & Investment Funds Department. Nicola’s long-standing client portfolio includes a diverse range of prominent Irish UCITS and AIFs, to which she has provided advices on all matters from establishment through to wind-down. She has worked extensively on the establishment of a wide variety of investment strategies including ESG, factor-based investing, ETFs, multi-manager funds, money-market funds, L-QIAIFs and private equity funds.
Niamh Cacciato has been appointed Consultant in our Litigation & Investigations Department where she specialises in restructuring, insolvency and commercial litigation. Niamh’s insolvency expertise includes advising liquidators, receivers and examiners as well as creditors, directors and shareholders of companies. She also has experience in all aspects of commercial litigation, with a particular emphasis on contentious insolvency litigation and contractual disputes.
