William Fry Celebrates Double Win at Managing IP Awards

William Fry  is proud to announce its success at the prestigious Managing IP Awards 2026.

The Firm has been awarded ‘Irish Trademark Disputes Firm of the Year’, for the fourth year running and ‘Europe Cross-Border Patent Litigation Team of the Year’, for its work on the landmark Moderna (BioNTech/Pfizer) matter. The Managing IP Awards, which took place at the InterContinental London – The O2 last week, recognise outstanding achievements in intellectual property across more than 50 jurisdictions.

With a strategic focus on the Life Sciences, Technology, Fashion and Food & Beverage sectors in particular, William Fry’s IP team is recognised both nationally and internationally as one of Ireland’s premier practices, advising the world’s leading businesses on protecting and commercialising their intellectual property.

The Irish Trademark Disputes Firm of the Year award acknowledges our market leading position, in this area and we are delighted to have won this award for the fourth consecutive year.

The Europe Cross-Border Patent Litigation Team of the Year award recognises William Fry’s work, as part of a team of European law firms co-ordinated by Freshfields LLP, on the Moderna (BioNTech/Pfizer) case, a highly complex, multi jurisdictional patent dispute concerning mRNA vaccine technology. The William Fry team was led by Laura Scott, Partner, together with the firm’s specialist patent litigation team including Managing Associate, John Sugrue.
