William Fry is pleased to announce the appointment of Brian Butterwick as a Partner to its Corporate / M&A Department. This senior appointment demonstrates the continued growth of the Firm in the last 12 months building on the Partner lateral hires of Lyn Brennan (Banking & Finance), Ian Devlin (Pensions), and John Aherne (Asset Management & Investment Funds).

Brian joins William Fry from Shearman & Sterling, London where he has worked for the last five years. During this time, he has gained significant experience in the firm’s Corporate practice advising clients on public and private mergers and acquisitions and joint ventures, with a particular focus on cross-border transactions, and also representing both issuers and underwriters in IPOs and secondary equity offerings.  Prior to Shearman & Sterling, Brian worked at Norton Rose for over 7 years.
