Joint Ventures

Recent work includes advising:

  • EirGrid plc on various aspects of its Joint Venture with its French counterpart Réseau de Transport d’Electricité (RTE) in connection with the development of he Celtic Interconnector which will travel 575 kilometres from East Cork to the north-west coast of Brittany and will be able to import and export enough electricity to power 450,000 homes. It is expected the project will be built and operational by 2026.
  • Joint venture of ESB and Vodafone Siro, in connection with the second phase of its high-speed broadband network in Ireland with €620m in funding from the European Investment Bank and other lenders and the associated reorganisation of its joint venture structure.
  • The Hammerson-Allianz joint venture on all Irish law aspects on its purchase of a EUR2.6bn portfolio of loans on Irish shopping malls
  • Glanbia Co-operative Society on its joint venture with Royal A-ware to build a new €140m continental cheese manufacturing facility in Co Kilkenny
  • Diageo on joint venture and other development arrangements with top tier developers and funders. .
