Andrew is Head of William Fry’s Corporate/M&A department and specialises in cross-border transactional mergers and acquisitions, primarily in the technology and life sciences sectors.

Andrew has extensive experience advising on acquisitions, disposals, joint ventures, corporate restructurings, capital maintenance, corporate governance, corporate finance, private equity and venture capital. He also headed William Fry’s San Francisco office for three years where he worked closely with US clients on international expansion projects to Ireland. He also leads the firm’s Inward Investment Group and acts for a wide range of Irish and international corporations and investment firms in the technology, life sciences and infrastructure sectors.

Recent transactions including advising:

  • Cruinn Diagnostics, one of the leading providers of laboratory diagnostic equipment, reagents, consumables and calibration services to the Irish market, on its sale to Waterland, a leading Pan-European private equity firm
  • Ardian France SA, the leading European-headquartered private equity firm with over US$180 billion of assets under management and advisory, on the Irish legal aspects of its majority-stake acquisition in the Horizon Home Care group, the Swiss-headquartered provider of non-medical home care services under the name Dovida (formerly Home Instead)
  • MML Growth Capital Partners on (i) its exit from Schivo Medical Group Limited, a global leader in the medical device and life sciences sectors, as part of a strategic recapitalisation involving Five Arrows Prime Aggregator S.à r.l, (ii) its investment in Relatecare, an Irish and US medtech company specialising in medical consultancy and outsourcing solutions and (ii) its investment in the Mail Metrics group, a rapidly growing customer communications technology provider serving financial and regulated industries.
  • Kyte Powertech, the specialist manufacturer of distribution transformers for distribution networks on its sale to R&S Group, the Swiss listed provider of electrical infrastructure components in Europe and the Middle East
  • Ardmac, a provider of clean, technical and working environments to the life sciences, data, microelectronics and electric vehicle (EV) battery sectors on its sale to Portuguese industrial manufacturer, Purever Industries
  • Domino’s Pizza Group plc, on its acquisition of Shorecal Limited, the largest Domino’s franchise business in Ireland
  • Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners on its joint venture with Statkraft A/S to develop a significant Irish offshore wind portfolio
  • Amalfi Technologies on the acquisition by US private equity firm Graham Partners of a majority stake in the Taoglas Group, a leading provider of antennas and IoT components
  • Trescal, a global calibration services leader on its strategic acquisitions of Butler Technologies’ calibration division, Multiplex Engineering and Delta P Monitoring Technology
  • Swiftqueue Technologies, a cloud-native appointment and scheduling solutions supplier to provide scheduling systems for hospitals, clinics and specialists, on its sale to European healthcare and diagnostic software provider, Dedalus SpA
  • August Equity on its acquisition of Integrity360, an industry-leading cyber security specialist
  • Atlantic Bridge on the establishment of its venture capital funds, its venture investments in WellAir, HiLight Semiconductor, Fieldaware, Swrve and other portfolio companies and on the Navitas SPAC acquisition by Live Oak Acquisition Corp
