William Fry is pleased to announce that its Cork office has moved to Penrose Two, Penrose Dock, Victorian Quarter, Cork, T23 YY09. The move to these new state of the art offices is necessitated by the growing Cork based team.
The Cork office is led by Brian O’Callaghan, a Partner and co-head of William Fry’s Real Estate department and Laura Houlihan, a Partner in the Banking & Finance department. The firm first opened its Cork office in 2019 and since then has been servicing the firm’s clients in the Cork and the wider Munster region.
The predominant focus of the Cork resident team is Banking & Finance, Real Estate & Construction, Corporate / M&A, Technology, ESG & Sustainability. The office also serves as a conduit across all sectors including those which are not serviced from Cork and are dealt with from the William Fry Headquarters in Dublin. The Firm is also an active member of the Cork Chamber of Commerce and, in particular, a member of the Cork Financial Services Forum, which aims to promote Cork as a destination for investment and talent in the financial services industry.
The Firm is also involved with the School of Law at UCC, engaging in its Internship programme, placement as part of the BCL (Clinical) programme and we have been the sponsor of the Annual UCC Law Conference for the last 15 years.
Commenting on the new office Brian O’Callaghan noted,
The firm has been working with clients in Munster for many years, and I am delighted that we can continue to service their needs in this area. Cork is a very attractive location in which to do business for inward investment companies requiring legal advice. In Cork, our clients have access to the firm’s Cork based team in addition to team members in William Fry’s Dublin, London, New York and San Francisco offices. The new office also has the capability and adaptability to accommodate the regular flow of our staff traveling to Cork, as well as future team expansion.
