Pat Breen TD, the Minister of State with special responsibility for Trade, Employment, Business, EU Digital Single Market and Data Protection, formally made a sectoral employment order regarding the construction industry entitled the Sectoral Employment Order (Construction Sector) 2019 on 28 May 2019 (the Order). It revokes the Sectoral Employment Order (Construction Sector) 2017.
The Order comes into operation on 1 October 2019 and provides new minimum pay rates for the construction sector. It also provides for unsocial hours payments, terms for pension and sick pay schemes together with an amendment to the normal working hours of construction sector workers.
