Siobhan Carlin is a Partner in William Fry's Banking & Finance Department. She advises a variety of financial institutions, private equity houses and corporate clients on a wide range of banking and financing matters including syndicated lending, senior and mezzanine debt structures, project finance, property and acquisition financing, financing to Qualifying Investor Alternative Investment Funds (QIAIFs) and other fund structures, derivatives and debt restructuring. She also advises on the regulation of entities in the financial sector. In addition she acts for bidders, purchasers and sellers in relation to the sale of loan and asset portfolios.  

Siobhan’s recent significant deals include advising:

  • the Berkshire Hathaway group in connection with the subordinated loan facility made available to the VHI Group for regulatory capital reserve purposes;
  • an international real estate investment and fund management firm in connection with the development financing of a multi-family development in Dublin;
  • Premier Lotteries Ireland in relation to the financing aspects of its acquisition of the licence to operate the Irish National Lottery;
  • advising an international real estate investment firm in connection with the acquisition and financing of a number of high profile properties in Dublin using fund structures such as QIAIFs;
  • Deutsche Bank AG, New York Branch in connection with the $825,000,000 senior credit facilities made available to the Trinseo Group and advising Deutsche Bank AG, London Branch and Deutsche Bank Securities Inc. in connection with the issue of $750,000,000 senior unsecured notes due 2022 by Trinseo Materials Finance Inc. and Trinseo Materials Operating S.C.A; and
  • the European Investment Bank in relation to the part financing of the development of the new science centre and the new school of law at University College Dublin.
